Elektroprivreda (EPCG), as part of the projects it is extensively developing and investment plans for the near future, is taking a serious step with the modern trends of the energy transition, announced the executive director of the power company, Nikola Rovčanin.
At the Sarajevo Energy Forum (SEF), which lasts from Tuesday to tomorrow at the Hills Hotel on Ilidža in Sarajevo, he said that the forum is an opportunity to discuss numerous current topics in the field of energy.
“This forum is an opportunity to discuss numerous current topics in the field of energy, but also to exchange ideas, problems and solutions, as well as to hear presentations on the latest technologies and the creation of assumptions for their implementation in our countries,” said Rovčanin.
According to him, as part of the projects he is extensively developing and investment plans for the near future, EPCG is taking a serious step with the modern trends of the energy transition, and something like that is especially important in the context of the development of those environments that, through conventional sources, have been keeping our energy system stable for decades and profitable.
Rovčanin participated in Panel 4, entitled Action for the transition to green hydrogen and biomass – What must be done by the state, and what preparations must be made by the economy.
“Green hydrogen is an important element of the EU Strategy for reducing dependence on fossil fuels. The amount of green hydrogen is currently only a few percent”, the announcement states.
According to the European Union’s plan, the share of green hydrogen should occupy half of consumption by 2030. A complete transition to green hydrogen requires time and investment of financial resources for the development of technologies.
“Solar electricity can be converted into hydrogen from renewable energy sources, which will be used as fuel or raw material in industrial processes,” EPCG said.
The forum was organized by the Solar Academy Foundation, under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The forum brought together experts, investors, development managers, equipment manufacturers, representatives of construction companies, regulators, actors from the academic community, energy companies, transmission companies, public companies and representatives of authorities and institutions from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region and the European Union, as well as civil society and the media.
