Electricity is a marketable commodity and if it is procured now and contracts are made at free prices, without waiting for the last minute to become a “take it or leave it” situation, then I think that citizens should not feel an increase in electricity prices, announced the Minister of Energy and Mining Sasa Mujovic.
He added that the Government had to and would certainly find a way “to protect those who need to be protected”, even when in case of some unfavourable situations.
Mujovic said that for the year 2025, a strategy was now being drawn up so that there would be no shortage of electricity and that it would not be bought at expensive prices.
He said that there should be no electricity shortage and that now the services of Montenegro’s power supplier (EPCG) must be ready to obtain a certain amount of energy that would be missing when the reconstruction is underway.
