In 2022, the Coca-Cola system in Montenegro, which includes Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola HBC, generated a total of €63 million through its value chain, representing 1% of the country’s GDP. The system contributed €39 million to the Montenegrin government budget, accounting for 3% of total tax revenues. Additionally, the Coca-Cola system supported over 2,200 jobs across its value chain, equating to 1% of total employment in Montenegro.
This study, conducted at the European level, highlights the direct and indirect economic impact of Coca-Cola’s operations in Montenegro, focusing on employment, local supplier support, investments in the community, and contributions to GDP and government revenues.
Gorica Stojković, General Director for Serbia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia, emphasized that the study illustrates how the Coca-Cola system has a deeply rooted influence on Montenegro’s economy. She stated that their successful business model combines economic growth with social responsibility, investing in youth, environmental protection, healthy lifestyles, and employee volunteerism.
Saša Marković, General Director of Coca-Cola HBC Serbia and Montenegro, added that the study not only showcases the system’s financial contribution but also its broader social impact. He noted the company’s role in fostering innovation, building partnerships, and creating growth opportunities for local communities.
The study was presented at a panel discussion titled “The Strength of the Economy Inspired by Collaboration,” where industry leaders discussed the private sector’s role in driving economic development in Montenegro.
