The Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) has published an updated list of companies with blocked accounts, showing 36 more blocked companies than the previous list.
The latest list includes 21,020 companies registered with the Central Registry of Business Entities (CRPS) and CBCG. Of these, 3,450 companies are registered only with CBCG and not in the CRPS.
Under the Payment Transactions Law, CBCG is required to publish data related to forced collection procedures, including company names, identification numbers, amounts blocked, and the duration of account blockages.
However, identification numbers for individual entrepreneurs are not published to protect personal data, as their accounts are registered under citizens’ unique identification numbers, which are protected by privacy laws.
CBCG releases this information monthly on its website on the first working day after the end of the month, listing companies alphabetically based on account status as of the last day of the month.
Since July 2012, when CBCG began publishing these data, the practice has followed legal requirements, initially publishing only companies or entrepreneurs with account blocks exceeding 10,000 euros for more than 30 consecutive days.
The list is available on CBCG’s official website to ensure transparency and impartiality.
