A 5 MW solar power plant, Solar Sign Zaton, has been inaugurated in Bijelo Polje, Montenegro, with an investment of €4 million. The facility covers approximately seven hectares and will generate electricity for around 1,000 average households.
The project was developed by Solar Sign Zaton, founded by Nermin Omerhodžić (CEO), Miloš Pejić, and Igor Papić.
Bijelo Polje Mayor Petar Smolović emphasized the project’s local significance, highlighting job creation, stable revenues, and contribution to energy independence while preserving natural resources. He stated that the plant demonstrates the region’s readiness to adopt modern energy and environmental trends and signals that Bijelo Polje welcomes green investments.
The municipality pledged to continue supporting investors in energy, agriculture, tourism, and culture, positioning the solar plant as the beginning of sustainable development and new investment opportunities.
