Alternativa Crna Gora has called on all citizens to boycott all forms of shopping on Friday, as part of the Global Economic Blackout, in a stand against rising prices and economic inequality.
The organization emphasized that the boycott of retail chains, which started in Croatia a month ago and later spread to Montenegro and other Balkan countries, has now become a global movement of discontent.
“On Friday, the global boycott will also be joined by the United States, as well as many European countries, including Romania, Slovakia, and Bulgaria. The information about the boycott is spreading so rapidly that we expect nearly half of the world’s countries to participate, expressing their dissatisfaction with the increasing profits of the wealthy and the worsening living conditions of ordinary people,” stated Alternativa Crna Gora on their Facebook page.
In collaboration with organizations from Serbia and Croatia, Alternativa Crna Gora is taking part in the boycott and urges all Montenegrin citizens to join.
“On that day, let a clear message be sent from Montenegro and the entire world – that the people make the decisions,” the organization stated.
