Air Montenegro has announced that it will not engage in public debates that do not aim to improve air traffic or develop the national airline but instead serve to spread misinformation and political manipulation intended to harm the company and Montenegro’s aviation sector.
The airline emphasized the need for better air connectivity in Montenegro and noted that it has expanded its fleet using only its own resources. They criticized unfounded attacks that ignore facts and official evidence, especially those questioning passenger safety, calling such claims attempts to profit by harming the common good.
Air Montenegro firmly rejects baseless accusations that question their expertise, commitment to passenger safety, and findings from relevant international institutions. The company operates fully in compliance with international aviation authorities such as EASA, IATA, and ICAO, prioritizing professional civil aviation standards over sensationalist claims from unqualified sources.
Currently, Air Montenegro is expanding its fleet and negotiating with reputable global aviation partners, including aircraft manufacturers, certified maintenance organizations, and leading European airlines, reinforcing their reputation as a safe and responsible partner. They refuse to be drawn into political conflicts or have their professionalism questioned.
The airline reiterated that all fleet expansion steps comply strictly with domestic and international regulations, involving all relevant stakeholders. They affirmed that the aircraft in question underwent comprehensive technical and operational inspections by Air Montenegro’s experts, manufacturers, and EASA-certified maintenance bodies. Claims about invalid documentation or compromised safety are unfounded attempts to discredit a critical strategic process.
Air Montenegro highlighted that the operator of the aircraft is on EASA’s priority list and its owner serves as president of the European Regions Airline Association (ERA), elected by prominent European aviation organizations, signaling strong professional credibility.
The company’s Board fully supports management’s decisions and sees no reason for further debate. However, if harmful publications continue, Air Montenegro will consider legal action.
They believe Montenegrin public deserves accurate, verified information rather than attempts to destabilize the national airline, which operates responsibly and with clear development goals.
Air Montenegro pledges to continue working transparently and professionally in the interests of passengers, citizens, and international partners, urging all public actors and media to exercise professionalism and avoid spreading misinformation that could harm the public interest.
