Air Montenegro launched its new Podgorica-Ostrava route today with flight MNE 390, marking a significant expansion in its service offerings. According to the airline, flights on this route will operate every Tuesday.
Apart from Ostrava, Air Montenegro already operates regular flights to Prague and Brno. Additionally, the airline conducts charter flights to Pardubice, serving the Czech Republic daily except Fridays.
Mina Muković Radonjić, a representative of Air Montenegro, highlighted the company’s rapid growth since its inception just a year ago. “We initially launched flights to Prague and later expanded our network to include flights from Tivat to Brno. Today, we are proud to introduce our third destination in the Czech Republic through regular services. Our charter flights to Pardubice further demonstrate our commitment to enhancing connectivity between Montenegro and the Czech Republic.”
Martin Gebauer, Deputy Governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region, emphasized the steady increase in aircraft traffic at Ostrava Airport. “In addition to handling cargo, passenger traffic at our airport has been growing steadily. This development is not only beneficial for the airport, where the region holds a stake, but also for passengers. Departing from Ostrava is notably more convenient for residents in our region compared to longer and less cost-effective journeys from Prague, Vienna, or Polish airports. Looking ahead, we anticipate our airport to become even more popular, expanding its range of destinations directly accessible from our region.”
Ondrej Musil, Manager for Passenger Traffic Development at Leoš Janáček Airport, expressed optimism about the new Ostrava-Podgorica route. “Montenegro has long been a favored destination for tourists from our region. We are delighted that Air Montenegro has initiated direct flights between Ostrava and Podgorica. The sold-out tickets for the inaugural flight are a promising start for this route, indicating Podgorica’s potential to become one of our top destinations.”
