Podgorica-based company Agenos Energy plans to build a 100 MW solar power plant named Vraćenovići, according to a request submitted to Montenegro’s Environmental Protection Agency for a decision on the need to prepare an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
The project is planned for Vraćenovići cadastral municipality in the Nikšić area and will include the installation of approximately 192,000 solar panels.
The document states that the project involves the construction of a photovoltaic facility for renewable electricity generation, along with all associated infrastructure, facilities, and grid connections.
The total area designated for the plant covers about 583,750 square meters, of which 208,352 square meters (around 35.7%) will be occupied by solar panels. Internal roads and access routes connecting various parts of the facility and providing access to technical infrastructure will cover an additional 27,600 square meters.
The planned solar power plant will be connected directly to the 110 kV Nikšić–Bileća transmission line, in accordance with the technical requirements of Montenegro’s Transmission System Operator (CGES). A connection agreement was signed with CGES on July 25, 2024 (reference number 700-D/24-1927/1), formally establishing the technical and legal framework for grid integration.
The Vraćenovići 100 MW solar plant is designed for long-term, stable, and safe operation, with an expected service life of at least 25 years.
