Montenegro’s State Secretary for Tourism, Vuk Žižić, met with Abdullah Naser Lootah, UAE’s Deputy Minister for Competitiveness and Exchange of Experiences, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in tourism and investment.
Both officials agreed that relations between Montenegro and the United Arab Emirates are friendly and well-developed, but hold significant potential for further advancement, particularly in tourism.
Žižić emphasized that improving air connectivity is essential to increasing tourist traffic between the two countries. He noted that Fly Dubai currently operates seasonal flights to Tivat, but extending this route year-round would boost arrivals. “Montenegro offers much more than a summer destination — its calm coastal towns, authentic nature, and mild climate make it ideal for UAE tourists even outside the peak season,” Žižić said.
Lootah offered to share the UAE’s experience and expertise in tourism development, which Žižić welcomed, highlighting the value of learning from Dubai’s successful tourism model.
The meeting also explored investment opportunities in Montenegro’s central and northern regions, aimed at diversifying the country’s tourism portfolio. Lootah underlined Montenegro’s strong potential for mountain, conference, sports, and religious tourism.
The talks concluded with an agreement to continue communication and cooperation through specific projects and initiatives to strengthen tourism and economic ties between Montenegro and the UAE.
