A total of 8,130 subscribers in Montenegro used the number portability service during the first nine months of this year, mostly in mobile networks, the Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (EKIP) announced.
According to EKIP, 286 numbers were ported in fixed networks and 7,840 in mobile networks between January and September.
In fixed telephony, most numbers were transferred to M:tel (233), followed by Telemach (24), Crnogorski Telekom (22), and One Montenegro (seven). The largest number of users left Crnogorski Telekom’s fixed network (251), followed by M:tel (18) and Telemach (17).
In mobile networks, of the 7,840 numbers transferred, 3,150 were moved to M:tel, 2,360 to Crnogorski Telekom, and 2,330 to One. The most users switched from One’s mobile network (3,530), followed by Crnogorski Telekom (2,200) and M:tel (2,110).
Since the introduction of number portability on December 1, 2011, a total of 113,380 numbers have been transferred—18,230 in fixed and 95,150 in mobile networks.
In fixed networks, most users moved their numbers to M:tel (11,300), followed by Telemach (4,200), One (2,300), Crnogorski Telekom (417), and Orion (three). The majority of users who left a fixed network came from Crnogorski Telekom (17,240 numbers).
In mobile networks, of the total 95,150 transferred numbers, 47,140 were moved to M:tel, 28,570 to Crnogorski Telekom, and 19,440 to One. Most users switched from One’s mobile network (47,770), followed by Crnogorski Telekom (30,900) and M:tel (16,480).
Number portability allows subscribers to keep their telephone number when changing operators, within either fixed or mobile networks. The process takes up to three working days, and users can request another transfer three months after the previous one.
EKIP reported that no complaints regarding number portability were filed during the first nine months of this year.
