The failed beach lease tender could seriously threaten the tourism season and lead to numerous lawsuits that may drain the finances of the Public Enterprise for Coastal Zone Management (Morsko Dobro), said Nebojša Medojević, president of the Movement for Changes (PzP).
He described the entire process as a poorly executed setup from the start.
According to Medojević, the tender involved illegal cancellations, rule changes after bid submissions, threats, blackmail, and bid tampering. He also mentioned unlawful agreements regarding beaches in Ulcinj leased by Alabbar.
Medojević expressed hope that the Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SPO), which is investigating the alleged misconduct, will conduct an effective investigation into the irregularities at Morsko Dobro, which he claims have jeopardized a key sector of Montenegro’s economy.
