In the first half of this year, 5,620 subscribers used the number portability service in Montenegro, mostly in mobile telephony, according to the Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (EKIP).
During this period, 235 numbers were ported within fixed networks, while 5,380 numbers were ported within mobile networks.
In fixed telephony, most numbers were ported to M:tel (201), followed by Telemach (21), One Montenegro (7), and Crnogorski Telekom (6). The majority of fixed-line users who switched came from Crnogorski Telekom (220), then Telemach (10), and M:tel (5).
Among mobile networks, the highest number of ports were to M:tel (2,230), Crnogorski Telekom (1,620), and One (1,530). Most users left the mobile network One (2,450), followed by Crnogorski Telekom (1,540), and M:tel (1,400).
Since the introduction of number portability on December 1, 2011, a total of 110,870 numbers have been ported: 18,180 in fixed networks and 92,690 in mobile networks.
Most fixed numbers were ported to M:tel (11,270), followed by Telemach (4,200), One (2,300), Crnogorski Telekom (401), and Orion (3). The majority of fixed numbers ported away came from Crnogorski Telekom (17,200).
In mobile networks, most numbers were ported to M:tel (46,220), Crnogorski Telekom (27,830), and One (18,640). The largest outflow of mobile users was from One (46,690), then Crnogorski Telekom (30,240), and M:tel (15,760).
Number portability allows subscribers to keep their phone number when switching operators. The process takes up to three working days, and a subscriber can request to port their number again after three months.
If a request is denied, the subscriber can file a complaint with EKIP. No such complaints were reported in the first half of this year.
