EPCG has launched a €12 million tender to connect the waters of Krupac and Slano lakes. According to Nebojša Medojević, leader of the Movement for Changes, Krupac Lake is completely watertight, but Slano Lake suffers from linear losses depending on the water level, ranging from 5 to 12 cubic meters. This means that one cubic meter of water from Krupac effectively becomes only 0.8 to 0.9 cubic meters in Slano, resulting in direct losses. He also noted that the Zeta River is declining and lacks sufficient water.
Medojević claims that the old hydrological data set is inaccurate, stating that there is roughly half as much water as previously estimated. He emphasized that some experts have exact data to support this.
He urged authorities to stop what he described as yet another harmful decision, following what he called the scandalous purchase of unprofitable, politically affiliated companies such as the Steel Plant and Solar, as well as the “pointless” reconstruction of the Pljevlja Thermal Power Plant.
“Either the government’s policy is to destroy the country’s most important economic entity or to sell it off cheaply,” Medojević concluded.
