Citizens, instead of seeing the continuation of the “Limited Prices” campaign, have experienced increases in the prices of bread, utilities and fuel, stated Mihailo Anđušić, a member of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).
He noted that the relevant Ministry had announced on April 29 that new measures or a continuation of the Limited Prices campaign would start on May 15. This campaign was the only government mechanism aimed at “preventing” inflation.
However, May 15 passed nearly two months ago without any follow-up. Meanwhile, prices of bread, utilities and fuel have risen.
According to official data from Monstat, the prices of key goods and services for citizens are approximately 4% higher compared to the same period last year.
Anđušić emphasized that these facts contradict government statements about living standards and the general economic situation, describing the current state as an “economy in artificial coma.”
