The Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG), Irena Radović, met with Veljko Milonjić, the future Ambassador of Montenegro to Warsaw. They discussed the directions for cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the field of economics.
The meeting with Milonjić, who will soon take on the role of Montenegro’s Ambassador to Poland, is part of preparations for assuming his new diplomatic position and provided an opportunity for exchanging views on current and future areas of cooperation.
“During the meeting, the discussion focused on the ongoing economic cooperation between Montenegro and Poland, with an emphasis on opportunities to strengthen it,” the CBCG stated.
Radović highlighted the good cooperation between CBCG and the National Bank of Poland (NBP), particularly in the framework of the current regional project, the Capacity Building Program for Central Banks of the Western Balkans, aimed at their integration into the European System of Central Banks, funded by the European Union (EU).
“Cooperation also occurs through regular participation of CBCG employees in seminars and events organized by NBP, which is an important contribution to the continuous professional development of staff,” the statement added.
Milonjić emphasized his commitment to actively contributing to the economic ties between the two countries through his role as ambassador.
The two interlocutors agreed that Poland’s current position as the President of the EU Council, with a mandate from January 1 to June 30 of this year, presents an additional opportunity to enhance cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the context of Montenegro’s European integration process.
