Prime Minister Milojko Spajić called the budget surplus in such a challenging January an “incredible achievement”.
In a post on social media platform X, he attributed the surplus to savings and increased revenue.
Spajić stated that if anyone has been disadvantaged, he would personally pay them from his own pocket.
“A surplus in such a tough January is a huge success. The reason: achieved savings and higher revenues. If anyone has been shortchanged (not paid), I will pay them from my own pocket. Fair?” Spajić wrote on X.
On Saturday, news outlets reported that Montenegro’s budget had a surplus of 2 million EUR in January, due to the non-realization of planned expenses amounting to 57.5 million EUR.
