The average January electricity bill for households in Montenegro, excluding unread meters in non-permanently inhabited properties, amounted to 46.16 EUR.
“Households in Mojkovac recorded the lowest average consumption of 25.98 EUR, while the highest average consumption last month was recorded in Tivat, where households consumed electricity worth an average of 57.56 EUR,” the statement from Elektroprivreda (EPCG) said. The company also stated that 54.8% of households received a bill of up to 30 EUR, 13.54% had bills between 30 and 50 EUR, 20.35% were billed between 50 and 100 EUR, and 11.35% had bills exceeding 100 EUR. “The number of consumers who received a discount is 162,560, or 44.9% of households in Montenegro,” the statement added.
Additionally, 15,430 households in Pljevlja received a 30% discount as a decision by the Board of Directors to reduce air pollutants, given the importance of the Coal Mine and the Pljevlja thermal power plant (TPP) for Montenegro’s energy stability.
“An additional 6.4% discount on network services is granted to all households connected to EPCG’s electricity distribution system, regardless of debt, to offset the rise in network service prices,” the statement clarified.
In January, households consumed 164.64 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity, 1.34% more than the consumption in December, and a 3.26% increase compared to January of the previous year.
