The value of payment transactions carried out over 22 working days in December amounted to 3.06 billion EUR, which is 68% higher than in November, according to data from the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG).
Of this amount, 94.87% was processed through the Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system, with the remainder processed through the Deferred Net Settlement (DNS) system.
The RTGS system handles individual payment transactions between participants on a gross basis in real-time, while the DNS system processes interbank payment transactions on a net basis in deferred time.
“In December, a total of 1.48 million orders were processed over 22 working days, with 38.38% in the RTGS system and the rest in the DNS system,” the CBCG report states.
The average daily volume of payment transactions, measured by the number of orders, was 67,150 orders, while the average daily value of the payment transactions amounted to 139.11 million EUR.
In December, the system operated without any interruptions for a total of 11,990 minutes, ensuring 100% availability.
