Montenegro is set to develop another facility for generating electricity from renewable sources. The new project is a solar power plant named Broćanac, with a total capacity of 160 MW, which will be constructed in the Nikšić municipality.
This information is outlined in the proposed urban and technical conditions published by the government following its recent meeting.
The Broćanac Solar Power Plant will be built on multiple plots covering a total area of 222 hectares in the Vilusi and Broćanac Grahovski cadastral zones.
According to the solar radiation measurement study for the Broćanac solar plant conducted in May 2024 by Universal Engineering from Podgorica, the total capacity on the DC side is 192 MWp, while the nominal capacity of the plant is 160 MW.
