Ljubiša Đurković, Technical Director of the Electric Power Company of Montenegro (EPCG), announced that there are no plans to increase electricity prices this year during an interview on the “Good Morning Montenegro” program.
Đurković explained that due to a shortage of rainfall, the company will have to purchase electricity. He emphasized that the domestic electricity price is significantly lower compared to most European countries.
“If you compare the price at which EPCG sells electricity to consumers with electricity prices across Europe, you’ll see that ours is substantially lower than in any EU member state. Consequently, EPCG can only incur losses at these rates; it cannot generate profit from the electricity prices set for citizens,” Đurković stated.
