The Government of Montenegro issued urban planning and technical conditions for the construction of solar parks with a capacity of 60 MW in the territory of Cetinje and a capacity of 68 MW near Nikšić.
For the solar power plant in Cetinje, UTU conditions are issued at the request of Slobodan Čavor from Cetinje, while for the territory of Nikšić, the request was sent by the company New Age Energy.
The total area of the site in Cetinje is approx. 60 ha in the scope of KO Velestovo, the Capital of Cetinje. According to the previously conducted analysis, it was determined that the maximum possible capacity of the future solar power plant is 60 MW, it is emphasized in the issued conditions.
A solar power plant with a capacity of 68 MW is planned on an area of 698,742 m² in KO Trepča, municipality of Nikšić.
New solar capacities throughout Montenegro
In December, it was announced that the company M Energy plans to build solar power plants in Cetinje and Nikšić, for which they were issued urban planning and technical conditions.
As stated, the total area of the sites is approximately 13,000,000 m², and according to the analyzes conducted by the investor, it was determined that the maximum possible capacity of future solar power plants is approximately 385 MW.
The solar power plant in Šavnik will be built by Sunrise Europe, and the maximum possible capacity of the future energy facility is approximately 220 MW.
The investment in Cetinje was also announced by the company Renewable Energy Sources, which will build a power plant on 440 hectares. The potential amount of energy produced is 306.20 GWh per year, while the maximum possible capacity of the future solar power plant is 225 MW of total installed power.
Urban planning and technical conditions have also been issued to the Sun Horizon company, which will also build a solar power plant in Cetinje. CWP Europe, the leading company for the development of renewable energy projects in Southeastern Europe and Australia, is behind this investment, and it will invest around EUR 360 million in the Montechevo solar power plant. This is the first project of this company in Montenegro.
In addition, new investments in renewable sources were announced recently, so urban planning and technical conditions were issued for the construction of two more solar power plants – one in Podgorica and another in Cetinje.
The company Montenegro Investment & Holdings is planning the construction of a solar power plant at the location of several cadastral plots in KO Draževina in Podgorica. The area of the site is approximately 190,000 m2, and it was determined that the potential amount of annual electricity produced from the solar power plant with a total power of 12.50 MW.
RES Montenegro Group is planning the construction of the facility in the Lastva and Ubli settlements on Cetinje. The total area of the site where the construction of the solar power plant is planned is 7,689,900 m2.
