In one year, the teams of EPCG – Solar gradnja installed more than 2,000 solar power plants on the roofs of houses and business buildings throughout Montenegro.
As announced by the company, a year has passed since the installation of the first solar power plant under the Solari 3000+ and 500+ project launched by Elektroprivreda, starting the green energy transition in Montenegro.
– The project envisages the installation of a system with a total installed power of 30 MW, of which almost 23 MW has been installed so far. We emphasize that after the completion of this project, EPCG will, according to estimates, earn between EUR 4.8 and 7 million each year, depending on the electricity prices on the stock market. Therefore, benefits from this and the following solar power plant construction projects are expected especially in the following years – the announcement states.
As they add, the Solari 3000+ and 500+ project was launched with the idea that every household and legal entity would get a solar power plant and thus achieve significant savings, and on the other hand, to enable Elektroprivreda to place electricity on the stock market by relieving the system load, which improves the company’s business results and develops the energy sector.
– The dynamics of work in the first months followed the dynamics of equipment procurement and dealing with administrative barriers, in the sense that for each installation it was necessary to obtain extensive documentation, which greatly slowed down the realization of the project. Since August of last year, thanks to changes in the law, for the installation of systems up to 30 kW, and later up to 1MW, the requirements regarding urban planning and technical conditions have been eased, which significantly accelerated the dynamics of work – it was clarified.
Photovoltaic systems have been installed on the premises of numerous households and business entities, and it should be noted that public companies and institutions such as the Post Office of Montenegro, RTCG, the Sports Center in Nikšić have also recognized the benefits of using solar panels, and the first phase of the planned photovoltaic systems has also been installed. on the roof of the Ironworks.
– We expect that the Solari 3000+ and 500+ project, which is in the final phase, will be fully implemented soon, so that immediately after that, the installation of the 5000+ (70 MW) project, which also includes residential buildings up to four floors, will begin – according to the company.
EPCG – Solar gradnja will, they add, work on other projects of Elektroprivreda – Solari 10000+ (62 MW), EPCG – Željezara (47 MW), and the construction of large solar power plants such as Krupac (36 MW) is also planned. Slano (2.2MW) and Vrtac Dam (1.7MW).
– We are convinced that EPCG – Solar gradnja will realize these and other projects in the field of renewable energy sources, not only in Montenegro, but also in the region where there is an increasing demand for electrical installation work for the installation of solar panels – the announcement concludes.
