The number of tourists from Italy continues to grow steadily, and one of the key conditions for maintaining this trend is the introduction of direct flights even after the end of the summer season, the Ministry of Tourism stated.
Tourism Minister Simonida Kordić met with Alessandra Priante, President of the Italian National Tourist Board and Italy’s representative in the European Travel Commission, to exchange views on current tourism trends and opportunities for strengthening cooperation between Montenegro and Italy.
Kordić and Priante agreed that the number of tourists visiting both destinations outside the main tourist season is increasing. Kordić also highlighted the rise in arrivals from long-haul markets such as the United States, Azerbaijan, and Israel, which further confirms the diversification of Montenegro’s tourism offer.
Priante pointed to changes in modern travel habits, emphasizing that new generations of travelers increasingly seek experiences that offer authenticity and a strong sense of place.
Discussing the ministry’s plans for next year, Kordić said that quality planning is not possible without precise and reliable data. In this regard, the digitalization of public administration remains one of the priorities, alongside the development of a new Tourism Strategy.
