In Montenegro, collective accommodation facilities recorded 137.37 thousand tourist arrivals and 374.22 thousand overnight stays in October, according to preliminary data published by Monstat.
Of the total number of overnight stays, 88.4 percent were generated by foreign tourists, while domestic tourists accounted for 11.6 percent.
In terms of the structure of overnight stays by type of tourist area, coastal destinations dominated with 85.7 percent of all stays. The capital city followed with 8.8 percent, mountain resorts with 3.3 percent, and other areas with 2.3 percent.
Collective accommodation facilities include hotels, boarding houses, motels, tourist resorts, holiday resorts, hostels and campsites. They do not include individual or so-called private accommodation—such as rentals in houses and rooms, or stays in tourist apartments.
