Montenegro’s electricity distribution company CEDIS reported a profit of over €3 million in the first nine months of 2025, which is €6.4 million higher compared to the same period last year, according to company director Vladimir Ivanović.
The main contributors to the improved performance were increased network fees and a significant reduction in technical losses, which have been nearly cut in half this year.
Ivanović stated that the distribution system is fully prepared for the winter season, with maintenance teams on standby 24 hours a day to respond quickly to any potential outages.
Over the summer, CEDIS repaired about 250 utility poles damaged by wildfires and is continuing investments in transformer station construction and modernization across several municipalities.
Currently, there are more than 4,000 illegal electricity connections, mainly in Žabljak, Ulcinj, and parts of Podgorica, which continue to affect network stability and slow down planned investments.
Total company investments since the beginning of the year have exceeded €22 million, and are expected to surpass €30 million by the end of 2025.
