Budva recorded around 245,000 tourist arrivals during the first six months of 2026, generating nearly 800,000 overnight stays, according to preliminary data from Montenegro’s statistical office, Monstat. The figures were slightly higher than those registered during the same period of 2025. Approximately 44,500 visitors are currently staying in Budva, representing annual growth of about 3%. Private accommodation accounts for the largest share, with 24,888 guests, up 6% year on year.
Hotels are currently accommodating 18,525 visitors, while the number of guests staying in hostels increased by 17% and those using campsites rose by 4%. Visitors from Serbia remain Budva’s largest source market, representing 13% of arrivals. Tourists from the United Kingdom and Germany combined account for a similar proportion.
Local tourism officials have identified stronger demand from Western European markets as an important factor in Budva’s development as a destination throughout the year. Tourist arrivals are expected to approach 50,000 in August as the peak summer season continues. Air connectivity has also supported tourism activity. Approximately two million passengers passed through Podgorica and Tivat airports during the first seven months of 2026, an increase of 0.6% compared with the corresponding period of 2025.
Hotel group Budvanska Rivijera also recorded growth during the first half of the year. Its revenue increased by 6%, while its financial result improved by 28%. Several hotels operated by the group are already fully booked or have only limited availability.
