Montenegro is experiencing a significant increase in tourists from previously underrepresented but strategically important markets such as the United States, China, Azerbaijan and Australia, according to the Ministry of Tourism.
Olivera Blagojević, Director of the Directorate for Tourism Development and Strategic Planning, stated that there is also continued growth from traditional markets like Israel, France, and the United Kingdom.
She emphasized improvements in air connectivity, with over 50 flight routes from Tivat and more than 45 from Podgorica this year, indicating progress in accessibility.
Currently, more than 130,000 tourists are staying in Montenegro. Collective accommodation shows a 4% increase compared to the same period last year and a 16% rise compared to the record year of 2019.
Blagojević stressed that tourism development is a shared responsibility, not just of the Ministry, but of all stakeholders involved in Montenegro’s most vital economic sector.
