The decision to sell the ships Kotor and 21. maj, made on July 16 at the Shareholders’ Assembly of Crnogorska Plovidba, represents the most serious blow to Kotor’s maritime industry in the past 30 years, according to Neđeljko Moškov, president of the DPS Municipal Committee in Kotor.
Moškov expressed shock at the silence and passivity of both local and national authorities, accusing them of allowing the “brutal dismantling” of Kotor’s maritime legacy. He criticized Minister Filip Radulović and the company’s board for permanently damaging the city’s seafaring tradition.
He emphasized that the responsibility lies not only with the company’s management but also with the Government of Montenegro and Prime Minister Milojko Spajić. Moškov accused Spajić of breaking campaign promises related to investing in the fleet and supporting the maritime sector.
He questioned how the company moved from receiving multi-million transfers from Barska Plovidba to selling its ships and shutting down operations, suggesting it might be part of a planned scenario. According to him, this is not restructuring but abandonment.
Moškov concluded by saying the fight for Kotor’s maritime future will continue and that “a time of accountability will come.”
